Sunday Funnies: LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE
Started in 1924, Little Orphan Annie was one of the five top strips of its time, with hardcover reprints of the strip appearing as early as 1926. It continued in popularity well into the 1960s until the creator's death in 1968.
While it had a slight boost in interest due to a 1977 Broadway musical (and 1982 movie), it has yet to achieve the levels of success it once had.
