SPOOFER

SPARKY was another one of D.C. Thomson's comics printed in the UK and aimed at children. Not as popular as BEANO or DANDY, it seems to me to be the funniest of it's time. Comparing these strips to the comics in the other titles, I find these to be both better written and well drawn. I honestly enjoyed almost every strip in this hundred page annual; but for now, we're just going to look at these two. I found them the most whimsical.
from SPARKY BOOK, 1977

Spoofer, he tells tall tales. The title pretty much tells you everything you wanna know. there were two different strips in this book, but I thought this one was funnier. It was drawn by Gordon Bell.

I could almost believe that Spoofer grew up to be one of the writers for Sparky just based on this next story (no art or writing credit on this one):
