WEEKLY WORLD NEWS

The Weekly World News was one of those trashy tabloid magazines that relied upon some outlandish headline for sales. Usually, it worked. It was priced cheap enough to work as an "impulse buy" at the checkout line in any grocery store.
Unfortunately, the headlines became less and less believable over the years until they had no choice but to cancel it's publication in 2007. End of story......
Or maybe not. All of the characters from the magazine are coming back in a four issue limited series from IDW publishing. With an original story by Chris Ryall and art by Alan Robinson, I'm sure it will be just as popular as the original newspaper.
If nothing else, it should be an interesting four issues to add to your collection of offbeat comics. I mean, it's got the BAT BOY! What more do you need?

Originally, this post was going to end here. While going over it, spell-checking and making sure all the HTML was correct, I noticed this:

....sounds like pure comedy gold, right? Well, I checked it out and surprisingly, it's not quite as awesome as it could be. But here it is anyway, just in case you're interested.

And in an unprecedented move, I'm resisting the urge to make any snarky comments on the article or the picture that accompanies it.
