NOAH by R. CRUMB

R. Crumb is an artist that is normally associated with wildly irreverent underground comics, so it is somewhat surprising that he would tackle a project as controversial as illustrating stories from the Bible. Having spent five long years on the book, striving to be faithful to the original text, it's somewhat ironic that he is now getting the harshest criticism for depicting the sex and violence that is already in the scriptures (!). Y'know, as if Crumb just added these racy tales for the heck of it.
Opinions may vary (as they often do), but for me, this has more spiritual impact than a whole stack of Chick tracts. The characters are realistic and the stories are word for word accurate; but feel free to judge for yourself by reading this, the story of Noah and his ark.
