DOUBLE FEATURE: Hot Stuff And Stumbo The Giant

Today we're going to look at two legendary ground-breaking stories (not really) from the "House Of Ideals", Harvey Comics.

from DEVIL KIDS #4, January 1963

In a rare instance, Harvey Comics tries a slight homage at the old EC line with a twist ending. Possibly a first in the post-code era (trivia buffs will know that Harvey had the distinction of publishing a comic with the most disgusting cover of all time).
Next up, from the same comic, another short featuring our favorite golden-hearted idiot, STUMBO:

Yes, Stumbo did "break the fourth wall" right there in that last panel, years before Ambush Bug or Deadpool made it popular.

So there you have it, folks! Two stories (in one issue, even) that set the standard for years to come (not really).

Casper And Stumbo Original Art

I happened to come across these two items while surfing the web. Two complete story sets that are on sale on eBay right now. That is, if you're reading this on the same day that I post it; even a few days from now the items will likely be gone. And that's why I wanted to post these immediately - because these scans will likely disappear after they're sold.
If you're interested in buying them, the item descriptions are listed before each story.

STUMBO AND DR. CESSPOOLE

Stumbo the giant was one of Harvey Comics' rarities in that he didn't have a whole line of books centered around him (even Little Dot carried several series at one time), he just was sort of always around in the back pages of the other characters books; usually Hot Stuff's or Wendy's.
Another oddity is that he actually had a recurring villain (instead of Richie and Casper's never-ending supply of baddies), Doctor Cesspoole. Memorable, but certainly not the greatest villain in comics, as you can see in this example from HOT STUFF #176, December 1990.....
