Promo Comic

capt00edit

Who doesn't love free comics?
Of course there's usually a catch to getting something for free. With comics it's usually because they're loaded with product placement advertising. Yet notice how very subtle the advertising is in this one. Why you might actually forget what they're pitching (yeah right).

Did he....did you see....he just....?
Yeah, apparently Cap'n America steals motorcycles when he's off duty. Guess we learn something new every day.

Deadpool's Pizza Adventure

Deadpool00001

I still have no idea why they thought that Deadpool was a necessary member of the new Thunderbolts team, and this issue explains nothing.
Currently, Red Hulk and Leader are fighting aliens. Punisher, Elektra, and Venom are taking on a mafia family. And Wade Wilson's secret mission for the good of humanity? .......well, see for yerself.....

ART: Covers By Marko Djurdjevic

Now these are the kinds of scans that make for an easy posting. All the commentary is already provided by the artist himself. So I ain't gotta say much of anything other than good design work and a strong feel for composition more than make up for the using of photoshop™. (yeah, I'm one those complainers who are usually against the over-use of digital art in modern comics)

I honestly like that last one the most. Howard was always one of my favorite characters.

Shock Rock VS The Punisher

punisherhumor001

When you think of satire or parody, probly the last comic you'd think of would be the Punisher. Yet here we are with a comic that spoofs (homages?) the theatrical metal band GWAR. And it has all the violence that you'd expect from a GWAR concert and a Punisher comic put together.
This ain't high class literature, folks, but I thought it was a fun little short.
Also of note: I absolutely love Frank Castle's armor that he wears on stage. (HINT TO MARVEL: we should see him wear this more often).

Patsy Or Hedy?

buzzjpg

It's easy for the casual reader to get the impression that the Patsy & Hedy dynamic is a simple case of good girl vs. bad girl, and I can't fault them for that. In most instances, Patsy is a goody two-shoes while Hedy is a rhymes-with-stitch. The best years of the series (the Morris Weiss period) gave them both more complex personalities.
Which brings us to these two stories, where Patsy and Hedy are both faced with a similar situation, but with somewhat different results.
First up is Patsy's dilemma:

Now let's see how our other girl handles the very same predicament:

Suddenly these characters aren't so black-and-white are they?
