St. Patrick's Day

Leprechaunjpg

Another year, another green beer.
I warned y'all last year about drinking too many of 'em, yet some of ya still didn't listen. C'mon folks, let's try a little harder this time around.
Anyway, another trip to Ireland and a visit to our little friends, this time with (of all people) Katy Keene.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY POST

porkyjpg

Saint Patrick's Day is upon us once again. The annual day when we get drunk in honor and remembrance of the patron saint of alcohol, St. Patrick.

While you're getting wasted tonight on green colored beer, take a moment to remember our hero (St. Patrick), and how he single-handedly removed all of the snakes that used to live in the wooden beer barrels. Before he came around, people would get bitten by snakes every time they went to a pub.

God bless St. Patrick.

Only semi-related to the story of St. Patrick is this tale about Porky Pig:

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Darby O'Gill and the Little People is an adaption of a Disney film (which itself was adapted from a series of books) that featured a young Sean Connery before he was cast in DR. NO. It's steeped in Irish folklore and features leprechauns, which makes it perfect for St. Patrick's Day. The artwork here by comics legend Alex Toth is just extra icing on the cake.
